Lambing time is here again!

Our flock of Welsh Badger Faced sheep are a very nomadic breed and the best thing for them during lambing, is to let them roam across the entire farm. So please all you doggie loving people out there, do make sure you keep your lovelies on their leads whilst walking across our fields!

Hello everyone out there - WE ARE OPEN!

Against all odds (the weather) we opened our award winning cafe in time for Mothers Day and we would like to thank all those lovely customers that came and dined with us despite the cold weather!

We will be open now, everyday apart from Mondays from 10.00 a.m.- 6.00 p.m.

It is our mission this year, to keep everyone up to date via our blog, with what is happening on the farm and in the cafe, especially the hilarious!!

And so as they say, please keep 'watching this space' and enjoy getting an insight into our crazy daily lives!

Dorset Food Week at Down House Farm

Here at Down House Farm we are very much looking forward to taking part in the newly launched Dorset Food Week running from Saturday 25th October to Sunday 2nd November 2014. We have plenty to offer across the week including delicious BBQ's, Cream Teas, Guided Flora and Fauna walks across the farm (going to places you will never have been before!), as well as the chance to meet some of the newest members of the farm - if you are very lucky you may get to give them dinner too!

Spring News

Summer is here!

End of the holiday season.....

What a fantastic summer it has been! Just how I remember them as a child. Showers at night, and sunshine by day, absolutely perfect for making hay! And now september is upon us, and our staff are getting ready to head back to college after a busy holiday period which called for an impromptu BBQ for them all as a thank you for all their hard work they have put in. We are so lucky to have such a good bunch of girls woking with us - thank you team! We are now closed on Mondays, but are still open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am until 6pm until the end of October. Chutney making here we come!

March Opening

We are now open for the 2013 season. We hope to see all our regular customers and new visitors very soon.

Although it's been a cold start to our season, the sun has been shining so why not venture out along the coastal path for a walk and come and see us for a bowl of home made soup and a cream tea?

We look forward to seeing you all soon.

August Update

With the footpaths and beaches open, if you are out walking along the coastline, whether enjoying the sunshine or braving the elements, why not come and visit us? We are still open 7 days a week until the second week of September. (when we will close Mondays)

Come and join us for a refreshing stop and enjoy a chilled Luscombe drink, a crisp salad and some Styles ice-cream, or warm up with some hearty home cooked bubble and squeak served with bacon and eggs followed by a pot of Clipper tea with our freshly baked scones with local clotted cream and jam.

Coastal Path Closure

Due to the recent landslide at Burton Bradstock the authorities have closed all coastal paths and beaches between Lyme Regis and West Bexington for safety reviews.

A Geologist is assessing the situation and has discovered 7 major landslips waiting to happen.

We will be some of the first people to be informed of when the slips occur and we will pass this information on as and when we receive any news.

Now open 7 days a week!

From the 16th July we will be opening on Mondays so we will be here 7 days a week over the Summer Holidays until the beginning of September. 10am-6:30pm- We hope to see you all soon!

Saturday 7th July- Cafe Closed

We are holding a family celebration at the farm on Saturday 7th July. Unfortunately this means we will be closing the cafe for the day. We will be back to normal the following day. We apologise in advance to anyone planning to visit us on this day and we hope to see you soon!
